Mehr erfahrenOne year before the Paralympic Winter Games in Milan-Cortina 2026, Cortina d'Ampezzo is preparing to become a model destination for accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities and has signed the Decalogue Destination4all, to build a more welcoming and usable city for citizens and tourists, laying the groundwork for lasting change that makes Cortina an open destination for all.
The Decalogue Destination4All, approved by FISH (Italian Federation for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Families), is a strategic document that defines ten fundamental principles to enable the tourist destination for accessible hospitality and promotes the involvement of the entire tourism supply chain, transparency of information, training based on the principles of Universal Design, and collaboration with local authorities. Representing a concrete commitment to ensuring an authentic and inclusive tourism experience.
Cortina is implementing significant urban redevelopment projects to eliminate architectural barriers. The PEBA (Plan for the Elimination of Architectural Barriers), developed by the Municipality, will be implemented with the aim of making the city more accessible and livable for every person.
The Destination4All protocol, created by Village for all V4A and promoted by the Municipality of Cortina, has involved numerous hospitality, restaurant, and commerce businesses, aiming to improve accessibility through the adaptation of spaces and staff training, promoting a culture of inclusive hospitality.
The guide offers an overview of the accessibility opportunities available in the city and includes the "Accessibility Score," an indicator based on qualitative and quantitative criteria, useful for identifying accommodation facilities best suited to one's needs.
The Accessible Hospitality Guide is available in an accessible digital format
