Built in 1979 by Gianni Palatini Zotèlo and his son Ferruccio, the refuge has been managed for 40 years by the Palatini family and, to this day, part of the family continues to carry on the activity, welcoming every traveler with a warm welcome, a genuine cuisine and a clean and neat environment, with a pinch of modernity and joy of a young and willing management.
Its strategic location offers a wide choice of walks, routes and climbs for all levels of difficulty, in the three beautiful Dolomite groups surrounding.
The Rifugio Scotter is a starting point for hikers and climbers who want to venture into our mountains, taking advantage of a comfortable accommodation before a long climb.
To reach the hut:
-In summer, park at the NeveSole Park, above the Sun Bar hut and follow the forest road which rejoins Sent.228 either on foot or by mountain bike.
-In winter, follow the summer path equipped with crampons, or climb up to the hut using the San Vito ski lift. Once at the hut, it is possible to hire a toboggan to descend. In addition, every Tuesday evening after 5 p.m., it is possible to ascend the Donariè-Tambres-Serpentina slopes with ski mountaineering skis and snowshoes.
