Along the road leading to Pez there was in the sixteenth century a capital with a popular image considered miraculous of the "Madonna and Jesus Child", so around 1665 the villagers started the construction of a small sanctuary dedicated to the Visitation of Mary and destined to serve as a new seat for the Marian icon.
From that moment the "Madonnetta" became a pilgrimage destination for the whole district. The design choices indicate the search for a strong spirituality, the octagonal shape recalls in fact the eighth day, that of the Resurrection of Christ, but also contains the concept of rebirth and spiritual evolution.
