One of the most significant square of the city, known as "Piazza Mercato". One of the paloace that surround the square is "Monte di Pietà".
It was built between 1501 and 1531 it still shows the original door and part of the original frescoes in the inside. On the facade there is the symbol of the Mount, that is a "Mercy" in stone of German school, a Venetian lion partially chiseled by the Jacobins in 1797, and numerous coats of arms of the Venetian rectors who guaranteed the administrative autonomy of the Mount from the repeated attempts of interference by the Council of Nobles. The relevant epigraphs were instead carefully chiseled by the Venetians themselves in 1691, in execution of a decision contrary to the excessive exaltation of the rectors of dry land.
In the annexed Vergine della Salute church there are works by Andrea Brustolon and Leonardo Ridolfi.
