Reserve of Monte Faverghera

Reserve of Monte Faverghera

A walk among bluebells, saxifrages, orchids, Arnica, gentian, ferns and more. That is the experience you can have on the Alpe del Nevegal in the Monte Faverghera nature reserve, a protected area of about 6 hectares that is home to numerous plant and animal species.

You can reach the reserve on foot, via the trails that start from Piazzale del Nevegal or by following the dirt road up from the village of Casera.
In the reserve you will find 3 different theme trails and an area turned into a botanical garden.

Curiosities

  • The Botanical Garden situated in the reserve was created by naturalist Francesco Caldart in 1957. Today, the nature reserve is looked after by the State Forestry Corps.
  • On the Alpe del Nevegal, there are numerous activities to do in all seasons: skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing, hiking, Nordic walking, mountain biking, downhill along dedicated trails.
