The Hermitage of the Romiti, suggestive silences
From the parking lot beyond the bridge over the lake of Centro Cadore (municipality of Domegge), we climb into the woods via a trail or forest road until we reach this place that was chosen by a group of hermit friars in the 1700s. They built a church, a convent, and chapels in the woods. Their simple story is tied to the great European history, and we will discover how. The main building has been renovated and now hosts a cozy refuge open year-round, a balcony overlooking Centro Cadore. Packed lunch or at the refuge.
Difficulty: medium-easy. Elevation gain: 400m. Time: 3-4 hours (excluding stops).
