La Mascorèda di Sottoguda

The traditional carnival event is back in Sottoguda, the Mascorèda, one of the “Carnevai de le vai” events. The typical carnival masks will arrive once again thanks to the young people of the area who hand down this ancient tradition made of colors, music and a lot of fun.

The parade will see as protagonists the Matazin, symbolic figures of the local carnival, dressed in colorful handkerchiefs and with an original headdress covered with flowers and ribbons. Other characteristic figures accompanying the Matazin are the Mascore de legn (wooden handmade masks) and the Musicians, led by the Capomascora.

Event Program:

- 1:30 p.m. Gathering (open to all) of traditional and fantasy masks at Hotel Pineta

- 2:00 p.m. start of the Mascorèda

- 2:30 p.m. stop at Bosco Verde

- 4:00 p.m. stop at Pian (Artigianlegno)

- 5:00 p.m. arrival in Sottoguda and party through the village streets

IN THE MEANTIME IN SOTTOGUDA: from 3:30 p.m. games for the children with masks, tea, brulè, and a lot of sweets! At 4:30 - 5:00 arrival of the Mascorèda and awards to the most beautiful masks

- From 8 p.m. final dance party open to everybody at the Hotel Albe
