Three days of slow and rejuvenating trekking on the trails of Val Comelico at the foot of the Dolomitic Group of Popera towards Col Quaternà, the volcano of Comelico, to discover the authentic mountain, its paths, and the mountain huts at dawn, at high altitude, with the gaze directed towards the rising sun of a new day. A circular route starting from Padola in the Valgrande area, along the woodland path (trail marker 171) leads to the Lunelli Hut, and from there, the trail 101 is taken to reach Berti Hut (1950 m). After a short break, the journey continues around the Vallon Popera with a stunning panorama of the Campanili di Popera, the Passo della Sentinella, Croda Rossa, Pala, and the Triangolo del Popera, a historical-naturalistic excursion to discover the evocative galleries and war trenches surrounded by the beauty and variety of alpine blooming. Return and overnight stay at Berti Hut. The following morning, savoring the spectacular light of dawn, the journey begins towards Forcella Pian della Biscia (trail markers 122 and then 124) to reach Passo Monte Croce and from there continue towards Malga Coltrondo and the Rinfreddo Hut (1887 m) where the overnight stay will take place. The next day, before dawn, a climb to the ancient volcanic chimney of Col Quaternà (2053 m) to relive the thrill of the dawn of a new day; return to the village of Casamazzagno crossing the Costa della Spina, a green and lush ridge with a succession of gentle ups and downs, a simple path at high altitude, where the green of the grass and the rock it's composed of contrast with the blue of a sky made unique by the altitude and the purity of the air that is breathed. The trekking is of medium difficulty, suitable for fit individuals or accompanied by our alpine guides for “A safe mountain, to be discovered with those who know it and can tell its story.”
