We ascend from the Monte Croce Comelico pass via a comfortable forest road. Along the way, we encounter some remnants of the ancient border between the Republic of Venice and the Habsburg Empire, now the regional (and cultural) border between Veneto and South Tyrol. We are accompanied by views of beautiful Dolomitic peaks and the pyramid of Quaternà/Knieberg, a remnant of an ancient volcano. Packed lunch or at the refuge.
Meeting at the parking lot in Padola square at 9:00 AM. Difficulty: easy. Elevation gain: 400m. Time: 3-4 hours (excluding breaks).
