The Val Belluna Ring, at the foot of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, allows you to discover a corner of Veneto not yet touched by mass tourism.
Characterized by great variety of agricultural landscapes, and rich in art, history and nature, with the cities of art of Belluno, Feltre and Mel, sites of ethnographic and naturalistic interest, Venetian villas, castles, archaeological sites, gorges, lakes and waterfalls is ideal for a weekend, at any time of the year, marked by slow cycling tourism.
The Val Belluna Ring, path in the direction of Belluno-Feltre, starts from the beautiful city of Belluno and continues towards Sedico and Santa Giustina, where there is the 1526 Mill of Santa Libera and the numerous irrigation channels of Vesès along the "Via dell'Acqua". It then continued on to Busche, where in 1964 the Latteria Sociale Cooperativa della Vallata Feltrina was founded, today better known nationally and internationally as Lattebusche. Continue towards the Venetian-style town of Feltre with a splendid view of the Belluno Dolomites. For those interested in admiring further places on the Piave Right you can walk through the Mis Valley, in Sospirolo in the heart of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, surrounded by the high and impenetrable walls of the Monti del Sole and the Pizzocco Group. In the Cesiomaggiore area, however, you will visit the Dolomites Ethnographic Museum and the daily life of Belluno from the late nineteenth century to today, and the Historical Bicycle Museum "Toni Bevilacqua", to conclude in Val Canzòi, in the park, and the village of Montagne with rural houses with the typical architecture of these places.
The Ring, path in the direction of Feltre-Belluno, instead, starts from the Renaissance-style old town of Feltre, to continue towards Lentiai where there is the church of Santa Maria Assunta recognized as a National Monument. Not far away you will find the most suggestive 14th century church of the territory dedicated to Sant'Antonio Abate in Bardies and the naturalistic site of the Laghetti della Rimonta. Always in the direction of Belluno, an inevitable stop at the fine village of Mel, on which several Venetian palaces overlook the square. After Trichiana and Limana you reach Villa Buzzati, home of the famous writer from Belluno, to finish the route in Borgo Piave, that is in one of the most important river ports of the Piave rafters. For those wishing to discover more places outside the path in the Piave Left, there are itineraries that will lead you to admire the ancient architectural complex of the Sanctuary of Saints Vittore and Corona, as well as the Vincheto di Celarda Nature Reserve of international interest. In the area of Borgo Valbelluna, finally, you can admire the only best preserved castle of the whole Valbelluna, namely the Castle of Zumelle.
