Colcerver (place name referring to the presence of deer) was permanently inhabited from the beginning of XVI century. For some centuries it represented one of the most populated small villages in the Zoldo area and in 1886 it counted 293 inhabitants.
At the beginning of the twentieth century it was partly destroyed by a fire, but immediately rebuilt. Over the following decades the village assisted to a gradual abandonment, mainly due to its isolated position: the only road open to vehicles is still an inconvenient military road (it dates back to the First World War) coming from Pralongo.
