A short and easy itinerary along the Cordevole that starts from the church of San Gottardo and reaches the locality of Salet, which hosts a breeding farm for the Carabinieri Forestali horses.
The path runs alongside the Cordevole Stream and winds its way, between the localities of Candaten and Salet, into the Monti del Sole Nature Reserve managed by the State Forestry Corps and part of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park. Within the Reserve, one can observe grazing horses and the abundant local wildlife, particularly roe deer, deer, and chamois, in addition to the beautiful flora.
The endpoint of this variant is the Zanardo nature trail, which ascends the valley for a few dozen meters over little bridges and wooden walkways, allowing us to admire a beautiful series of waterfalls formed by the Ru de le Montareze. The return is planned via the same route.
