Malga Erera (1790 mslm) can be reached from Val Canzoi by CAI trail nr. 802 and is the ideal base and refreshment for all those who wish to combine the pleasure of walking in nature with the genuine taste of the products of the mountain hut within the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park.
The State Forestry Company of the CFS and the Park have, in fact, collaborated to allow the challenging restoration of the structures of Malga Erera and the adjacent Malga Brendol, thus ensuring the maintenance of the ancient tradition of pasture and milk processing also through the provision of innovative plants for the use of renewable energy and for the processing of milk directly at high altitude.
The plateau of Erera-Brendol, where the mountain hut is located, is an extensive and fascinating alpine prairie also called "Piani Eterni" because of the extraordinary quality of the natural contents and the originality of the landscape: large superimposed gray limestone, crevasses, sinkholes, furrowed fields alternate in a succession of soft and rounded shapes on which you venture with difficulty, enchanted by their charm.
