Malga Gran Pian can be reached on foot with a simple walk from Malga Ciapela. The starting point is the parking area before the Malga Ciapela camping site, where there is a large parking lot.
In winter, the malga can be reached on foot, with snowshoes, or with cross-country skis thanks to the adjacent trail.
The malga is open to the public for the sale and tasting of products during the summer season and on weekends even during the winter season.
From Malga Gran Pian it is possible to continue towards the Valli di Ombretta or Franzedaz, along the famous Alta Via no. 2.
