TOUR OF THE MOUNTAIN FARMS AND MOUNTAIN HUTS

Piani di Pezzè-Col dei Baldi-Cima Fertazza-La Tiezza-Piani di Pezzè

A beautiful and scenic excursion for electric mountain bikes that touches on two malghe (shepherd's huts) and 5 Mountain Hut stops where you can combine the tasting of local products with the views offered by the Civetta district.

The start of this loop tour is from Piani di Pezzè. For better use of your E-bike's battery, we recommend that you climb to the Piani using the cableway from Alleghe, where you can load your bike at no extra charge.

From the exit of the cableway, descend to the plain, taking the small road that climbs up towards the Mariaz ski lift. Follow it until you reach the return slope, from where you climb up steep slopes towards F.lla Alleghe and from here to Col dei Baldi, the first refreshment point.

The climb in the first part is demanding and requires confidence in carrying the bike. From Col dei Baldi you descend down a steep meadow and small road to Malga Boi Vescovà. Continue downhill to the next junction that reaches Malga Fontana Fredda in the municipality of Selva di Cadore. Continue on and, leaving F.lla Pecol on the right, climb up to the Costa dei "Giai" crossroads, where an obvious junction to the right leads to Ristoro Fertazza.

From here, the ascent route to the Fertazza summit is clearly visible and marked with coloured poles. At the summit, the Ristoro Belvedere offers an unparalleled panorama before tackling the technical and demanding descent to La Tiezza. which requires numerous off-slope sections. It is recommended to tackle the slopes at low speed and to pay attention to the sometimes slippery surface and the gullies that cut the track.

From La Tiezza, where the two chairlifts for Col Fioret and Col dei Baldi depart, continue along the obvious little road that descends towards Piani di Pezzè. Maximum attention in a particularly steep and slippery section. Having crossed the Civetta slope, the descent continues through the forest until you reach the hairpin bends of the silvopastoral road that descends towards the Piani di Pezzè where you will find the restaurant huts: Grande Baita Civetta, Baita Scoiattolo and Ristorante Fontanabona

The return to Alleghe takes place on the 5 km of asphalted road that descends to the town.
