It was built in 1917 at the foot of the Three Peaks, along the path leading to the Lavaredo refuge, in memory of the 12th Bersaglieri battalion. It is also known as the Madonna del furto (Our Lady of Theft) because, given the period of war, it was built using salvaged material of dubious origin. In 1964, it was rebuilt maintaining as much of its original features as possible. Every year in July, a Holy Mass is celebrated in memory of the fallen soldiers.
