This work, built of stone, was originally about 80 cm high, with a width at the base of 150 cm and at the top of 60 cm. The construction of the "muraglia" was forced on the inhabitants of San Vito by the commissioners of the Venetian Republic and the Austrian Empire to settle border disputes between Cortina and San Vito. Today you can visit what remains of the original structure, built in 1753 and completed in only six months.

Starting from Passo Giau, take path no. 443, which skirts the southern slopes of Ra Gusela, heading towards the Cinque Torri. After walking for about 20 minutes, you come in sight of the Bèco de ra Marogna. Here you leave the path to reach the southern slopes of the Bèco, on which a cross is carved to mark the border between the two municipalities. From this point you begin to see the little wall, which descends along a grassy clearing and then into the woods to the asphalt road. Below the road, the path goes down to the Rio dei Loschi and then up the opposite bank; in this part, the remains of the wall are more difficult to see because they are hidden by rich undergrowth. However, if you continue to below the Crepe di Formin, you will be able to see a pair of very well-preserved plaques embedded in the rock: that of the Habsburgs and that of Venice with the lion of St Mark.

It is advisable to walk the route with an alpine guide.
