The murals of Cibiana are a permanent exhibition on the facades of the old houses in the village: large frescoes have been painted on the walls of some of the houses, creating an open-air museum that is enriched with new subjects every year.
Various Italian artists, such as Vico Calabrò from San Vito, as well as foreigners from Japan and Russia, have contributed to the creation of these wonderful works.
The Cibiana Murals are an initiative that began in 1980 with the aim of recovering traditions, trades and stories from the town's cultural heritage, and presenting them to the public.
In this way, the town's heritage has been enhanced and the village has been embellished as in the old medieval Italian towns: discovering the "Land of the Murals" means discovering the narrow streets that connect the houses, immersing yourself in a picturesque and surreal setting, to savour the special features that Cibiana has to offer, while you can admire the frescoes enraptured.
This open-air museum can be visited all year round. This route can also be cycled and is suitable for families.
