The Baion - Elio Boni Refuge is located at the foot of the Marmarole mountains on the southern slope at an altitude of around 1800 m in the municipality of Domegge di Cadore. Rifugio Bajon, built in 1892 as a malga for cattle herding, was renovated in the late 1960s and converted into a refuge. Rifugio Bajon can be reached by car from Lozzo di Cadore, along the 17 km old military road "del Genio", with regulated traffic in July and August (ascent in the morning and descent in the afternoon), or on foot from the hamlet of Deppo di Domegge di Cadore, from the hamlet of Grea or from Calalzo di Cadore. The Bajon Refuge offers a panoramic view of central Cadore, from Antelao and the Spalti di Toro to the backdrop of the Cridola.
