“Enough, I'm giving up everything!” are the words of Lievore, immortalized in history thanks to the famous and impromptu interview with Zavoli during the Belluno-Vittorio Veneto stage of the 1966 Giro d'Italia.
After having paved the way for almost the entire route, Lievori sees himself overtaken by Scandelli.
His legs give out, he no longer wants to move forward. It will take the reporter urging him to continue. “Fine – Lievore convinced himself – I might die, but just a meter after the finish.”
This route winds along the same track: a climb immersed in a rich natural, historical, and cultural heritage in the heart of Veneto that leads from Lake Santa Croce to Cansiglio!
