Maurizio Bottegal
INSTRUCTOR AND OWNER OF THE SCHOOL
Maurizio Bottegal, born in Zurich (CH) on 29/11/1962, began paragliding towards the end of 1987, and it was love at first sight. He has won 20 national and international titles since starting his competitive career in 1989 (with 13 appearances in the national team). Since 1991, he has been an instructor and examiner in free flight certified by the Aero Club d'Italia. Since 1992, he has been running the Monte Avena paragliding school, where he personally conducts basic, safety, and advanced courses. He continuously collaborates with industry magazines, where he often contributes articles on flying techniques and materials. He also collaborates with clothing companies to create specific garments for flying. He is a tester for the fine-tuning of paragliders from the German company Swing, of which he is the sole dealer in Italy. Since 2006, he has been the creator of "Volare Meglio," a practical theoretical course based on the correct mental attitude to improve performance in free flight. He was the competition director of the 15th FAI Paragliding World Championship held in July 2017 in Monte Avena - Feltre.
