The frescoes decorating the interior of the Alleghe parish church are attributed to the Val di Fiemme painter Valentino Rovisi.

Although the written documentation was destroyed in the furious fire that destroyed the church at the end of the 19th century, there are many clues that point to Rovisi's clear authorship of these paintings.

Trained at the school of Tiepolo, Rovisi was born in Moena in 1715 and as a child, to develop his skills, he moved to Venice to work as an apprentice in Tiepolo's workshop.

Returning to the valley, he carried out his activity in Moena and the neighbouring valleys, leaving numerous testimonies of his passage through the Agordino area. Particularly significant among these works are the frescoes painted in the Alleghe church and the oil altarpieces that adorn its walls

The work of Valentino Rovisi is today well documented in Giuliano Dal Mas' publication by "l'union de i Ladin de Alie". The church is open for visits every day from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
