Ring in Valbarance

Ring in Valbarance

Prepare to discover an idyllic corner: a place of peace and serenity, nestled in the forest at the foot of the San Sebastiano Group, in the Zoldo Dolomites.

The hike to the Vach pond and the waterfall of the same name is one that the whole family will enjoy.

From the centre of Pralongo, follow the dirt road that leads to the Casera del Pian farmhouse (signpost 524): from there, the route enters a mixed wood of hornbeams, firs and alders and then comes to a picturesque clearing. Tables and benches near the small lake invite you to take a break, punctuated by the sound of water flowing down the wall, forming a particular waterfall.

Dal laghetto del Vach l’itinerario prosegue puntando verso il pittoresco paesino di Colcerver, per poi fare ritorno a Pralongo.

This hike is modular: if you choose to do it in its complete version, the duration is just under 9 kilometres, with a difference in altitude of around 400 metres and a duration of three hours (excluding stops). You can make it much shorter by starting out from Casera del Pian and reaching the Laghetto del Vach, and then returning to the starting point!
