On the tympanum of the men’s door (left side) is carved the date 1633 interrupted by the monogram of Christ. It is the main evidence of the seventeenth-century enlargement that affected the choir, the nave and the two side altars. Around 1720, due to the increase in population, the hall was enlarged by moving the altars, erecting the orchestra and the current dome of the presbytery.

At the end of the works, in 1734, the church was consecrated by Bishop Suarez. The final arrangement of the nave, with the construction of the current ceiling, was finally given in the following century, probably designed by Giuseppe Segusini. It was then reconsecrated by Bishop Renier in 1857. The sixteenth-century bell tower was rebuilt between 1721 and 1745, as evidenced by the dates engraved respectively at the foot and top of the building, designed by the local architect Antonio Schio. It is made of local stone: for the occasion a quarry was opened above Aune. In the 19th century, the belfry was raised and the roof was replaced with the current onion-shaped one. The clock was added in 1864. Today the bell tower is 37 meters high. The interior, with a single room, with two side altars in addition to the largest, has a massive classic ledge on the walls supported by pilasters.

Behind the nineteenth-century presbytery is the altarpiece by Pietro de' Marescalchi (1522-1589), framed by two Corinthian pilasters.

It is a valuable oil on panel depicting the Madonna and Child between Saints Pietro the Apostle and St. Lorenzo Martyr, dated to the fifth decade of the sixteenth century and restored in 1989. The work, for influences, setting and use of colors, is fully within the Venetian mannerism of the time.

On the side of the seven-nineteenth century are the wooden stalls and the two praying angels, while the ceiling hangs the royal crown in gilded wood (XIX century).

The dome above was frescoed, but later repainted, by an unknown artist from Feltre towards the end of the eighteenth century with the Assumption of Mary in the center and in the segments Moses, Elijah, Saint Paolo the Apostle and Saint Giovanni the Baptist.
