On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Dino Buzzati's death, local writer and historian, Lina De Biasio, presented a selection of the author's writings in Alleghe's parish bulletin number 1/2022.

These include a series of epithets addressed by the writer to the Civetta rock face, described with respect and circumspection, where Dino Buzzati emerges as a person who knows, understands and deeply respects the mountain.

It is described as 'the most grandiose wall in the Dolomites', which can resemble an immense organ; 'the most beautiful of the Alps that has no comparison with any'; 'a frightening wall with architecture to make those who contemplate it from the scree at the base hold their breath';

In one particular painting by Buzzati, the Duomo of Milan is depicted in its spires in the manner of a Dolomite mountain, so much so that for some, the painting of the Duomo might actually represent a typical pale mountain massif. You choose which one.
