This itinerary takes its name from the great poet who stayed in Caprile in the summer of 1886 to spend time in the mountains and where Carducci was able to walk along the most beautiful paths around the village.
The itinerary is circular and starts in the hamlet of Caprile. From the centre of the village, take the road that leads to Selva di Cadore and, following the obvious signs, immediately enter the woods. Go around a solitary house and take the steep hairpin bends to reach the "Bus del Diaol" viewpoint, from where the view of Caprile is worth a short stop.
The climb continues through a clearing immersed in an enchanted wood. You will soon reach Lagusello, a hamlet surrounded by lush green meadows where there is a providential fountain in the centre of the village.
Following the red and white signs, continue on to Pian, where there is a wonderful view of Lake Alleghe and the overhanging north-west face of the Civetta. Before descending towards the centre of the hamlet, on the left, a ramp with an "interesting" gradient climbs up to the village of Pragrant, where a centuries-old spruce tree stands majestically, estimated to be about 400 years old! It is said that Carducci stopped to rest in its shade before climbing towards Cima Fertazza.
Once back in Pian and having reached the first houses, you will notice the excellent state of preservation of the village, with valuable mountain architecture that bears witness to the economy of the past. Here, too, there is a fountain where you can quench your thirst before beginning the descent along the path towards Tos.
At the end of the descent, it is possible to observe the area once used for the extraction of zoned alabaster, which is currently being restored by the Proteo di Vicenza Speleological Group.
