Escursione al rifugio Galassi, Località Forcella Piccola Dell'Antelao - 32042 Calalzo Di Cadore (BL) IT info@rifugiogalassi.it www.rifugiogalassi.it/

Managed directly by the Mestre Section of CAI, through its willing members, equipped with a room for didactic use with equipment that makes conferences and naturalistic courses possible (projector, overhead projector, etc.), it constitutes the preferred support base for the ascent to Antelao.

It is a stopping point for the walkers of the Dolomites High Routes n. 4 and 5 and of the Marmarole Runde.

Inaugurated in 1913 as a military barracks, it was named after Lieutenant Pietro Galassi. In 1928 the barracks were abandoned and then given to the management of the Pieve di Cadore section of the CAI, which ran it until 1933.

In 1937 it was returned to the military authority and in 1950 it was entrusted to the section of the CAI of Mestre that gave it in management to the couple Moretti - Zugliani until 1960. The refuge was restored twice, in 1967 and in 1973.
