Giardino Botanico Alpino "G.Lorenzoni", Via Cansiglio Pian del Cansiglio - 32010 Tambre (BL) IT (0039) 0438 581757 associazionelorenzoni@gmail.com www.ortobotanicoitalia.it/veneto/cansiglio/

The Garden offers a rich catalog of the flora of the Cansiglio Forest and allows visitors to admire magnificent blooms, majestic trees, and small animals that inhabit the area. Designed in 1972 by Professor Giovanni Lorenzoni of the University of Padova and Inspector Giovanni Zanardo of the Forest Corps, the Alpine Botanical Garden is located on the Cansiglio Plateau. To date, nearly 1000 species of plants have been collected from the area of the ancient Forest and the Col Nudo-Cavallo mountain range, providing visitors the opportunity to observe their characteristics, learn about their environmental distribution, and enjoy their beauty. Alongside the educational and aesthetic intentions, there are also scientific and conservation goals with the aim of combining the study of the multiple aspects of flora with a place for the collection of rare and native species, enriched by educational panels that assist visitors in understanding this magnificent place.

The habitats presented in the Garden are very diverse to represent the complex territory that surrounds it; among them, particular attention is given to alpine environments, wetland vegetation, beech forests, red and silver firs, mountain medicinal plants, plants of arid alpine environments, and some specimens of very rare species. Recently, a second area of the Garden dedicated to the meadows and stable pastures of Cansiglio has been opened, featuring a splendid viewpoint from which to admire the mountains of Alpago.

The Garden, managed by Veneto Agricoltura, is equipped with a Visitor Center and offers educational visits for schools and adults.
