Giardino Botanico Alpino "G.Lorenzoni", Via Cansiglio Pian del Cansiglio - 32010 Tambre (BL) IT (0039) 0438 581757 associazionelorenzoni@gmail.com www.ortobotanicoitalia.it/veneto/cansiglio/

The Garden offers a rich catalogue of the flora of the Cansiglio Forest and allows you to admire magnificent blooms, majestic trees and small animals that populate the territory. Created in 1972 by Prof. Giovanni Lorenzoni of the University of Padua and the Inspector of the Forest Corps Giovanni Zanardo, the Alpine Botanical Garden is located on the Cansiglio Plateau. Today there are almost 1000 species of plants present in the area of the centuries-old Forest and the mountain massif Col Nudo-Cavallo offering visitors the opportunity to observe its characteristics, know its environmental distribution and enjoy its beauty. The educational and aesthetic intent is near the scientific and conservative, through the desire to combine the study of the multiple aspects of the flora and visit a place of collection of rare and indigenous species enriched by educational panels that help the visitor in the understanding of this magnificent place.

The habitats proposed in the Garden are very diversified to represent the complex territory that surrounds it; among them are particularly noteworthy the alpine environments, the vegetation of the humid places, the forests of beech, spruce and white, the mountain medicinal plants, plants of arid alpine environments and some very rare species. Recently a second area of the Garden dedicated to the meadows and pastures of the Cansiglio has been opened with a splendid panoramic point from which to admire the mountains of the Alpago.

The Garden, managed by Veneto Agricoltura, has a Visitor Centre and offers educational visits for schools and adults.
