Saint Peter's Hill, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II (Piazza Maggiore) - 32032 Feltre (BL) IT (0039) 04392540 feltrino@dolomitiprealpi.it www.dolomitiprealpi.it

The route of the Saint Peter Hill starts behind the Hospital of Lamon and develops in a ring path that runs along the whole hill. Along this route you can admire some of the sacred monuments of these places.

The Church of Saint Peter, patron saint of the town, was built in the early Middle Ages, and has come to us in the simple and meager external structure today for successive juxtapositions. The pictorial furnishings can be dated back to the XVI-XVII centuries and there are frescoes by Marco da Mel, works by Marescalchi and seventeenth-century paintings attributable to the painter A. Zocco. On the right side altar there is a work by F. Frigimelica depicting a Madonna with Child and S. Giovannino. The organ of Callido dated 1600 has been recently restored.

The other sacred building is the Church of San Daniele, which stands at the foot of the hill. The date of foundation is not certain although some sources date the reconstruction around the first decades of the seventeenth century, on a previous chapel attested for the first time in 1529. The most striking and interesting feature of the church is the bell tower that leads back in shape to a typical Nordic building style. The pictorial decoration, dismembered after the deconsecration, consists of a series of frescoes by the painter G. Moech, while the upper part of the high altar is the Deposition, attributed to Frigimelica. To reach and visit them, however, you need to take another road.

Along the way there are some tables suitable for those who wish to relax or enjoy a pleasant picnic.

Finally, it is important to remember that the route is part of the ULSS project 1 Km per day, a project that aims to identify in the territory a 1 km path to be carried out safely to stimulate to keep healthy through movement and physical activity. This ensures that the dirt track is easily accessible and without obstacles with special signs containing QR-Code that refer to health content and that can be practiced by everyone safely.
