Salita della Leggenda Pedavena - Croce d'Aune, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II (Piazza Maggiore) - 32032 Feltre (BL) IT (0039) 04392540 feltrino@dolomitiprealpi.it www.dolomitiprealpi.it

November 4, 1924, Grand Prix of the Victory, ascent to Croce d'Aune, a very young Tullio Campagnolo is in competition and caresses dreams of victory.

Everything breaks when metal and cold hands prevent him from disassembling and reassembling the wheel. This is the moment that will lead him to the invention of the change-of-hands. It is here, on the Croce d'Aune climb, that cycling begins to change forever.

On 1 June 2019, the hairpin bends of the Croce d'Aune will be back in pink in the Belluno stage starting from Feltre. Thousands of people watch the fiery duel between Nibali, Carapaz and Roglič in the stage celebrating 25 years of the Sportful Dolomiti Race, the toughest Granfondo in Europe held every year in mid-June. Inserted between the Dolomite stages in 1964, it remains an unforgettable passage where, for one afternoon, the tour seems to return to the era of the myths Coppi and Bartali.

A track on dirt road, at least 300 holes: Vito Taccone, in the lead of the race, seven times between ascent and descent. A struggle of nerves, as well as legs, in which Marcello Mugnaini crosses the finish line first, ahead of Zilioli and Motta.
