The route, which winds around the village of Rocca di Arsiè, is ideal for those who want to admire Lake Corlo, an artificial basin between Valsugana and Monte grappa, where the Valbelluna opens.
A few kilometers from the Veneto plain and the Dolomites, it is formed by an artificial barrier of the deep canyon created by the Cismon torrent. Its name, moreover, comes from the small village overlooking the dam: Corlo. Similar to a Norwegian fjord, whose waters reflect the surrounding vegetation and the village of Rocca, it is one of the largest lakes in the Province of Belluno.
The route will lead you to discover the wonder of this lake and the town that was almost totally submerged with the creation of the reservoir in 1954. You can also admire its beauty from the other side, crossing the Ponte delle Bassane and the Ponte della Vittoria. The latter, also called Ponte delle Corde, was built in 1928 in memeory of the victory of the First World War and replacing the Chain Bridge, which was located lower and for this reason was often covered by floods.
A path, in short, that will take you between nature and the history of this corner of paradise!
