From Soranzen, follow the signs for Val Canzoi. The road climbs up to the foot of the charming village of Montagne, which can be reached by a short but steep detour (150 m of elevation gain). In the area of Le Ave, you pass next to the small church of Santa Eurosia (Park panel) built on the roadway of an ancient communication route (probably the Roman military road Claudia Augusta Altinate). Continue for another 2 kilometers to the Umin bridge, which crosses a spectacular gorge. After a climb, you arrive at the environmental education center of the Park La Santina. About 400 meters later, at another bridge over the Caorame stream, you find the start of the short walking educational path Di terra e d’amore (park panels).
The road proceeds with less incline until you reach the La Guarda power plant, near which there is an interesting lime kiln (an ancient furnace to produce lime). You pass the restaurant at the end of the valley and, with a short but steep stretch uphill, you reach the dam of lake La Stua (Park panel). From here, the now unpaved road runs alongside the artificial lake until the fork between the CAI 802 and 806 trails; take the latter to the left, and with a short ascent, you arrive at the house Al Frassen, our destination. The return follows the same route.
