If you take the road that climbs from Celat di San Tomaso Agordino and stop at Forcella San Tomaso, you can see quite a sight. You can see up close in a few metres the most beautiful peaks of the 9 systems of the Dolomites World Heritage Site reproduced in miniature.
The Dolomites Rock Miniatures is a project sponsored by the UNESCO Dolomites foundation. Artists from all over the world are sculpting Dolomite peaks out of blocks of Serla Dolomite quarried from the San Tomaso quarry.
New sculptures have been added every year since 2017, allowing us to appreciate and recognise the outlines and shapes of the most iconic peaks such as the Three Peaks of Lavaredo, the “Cor,” the Civetta and the Marmolada.
Get an up-close view of the Dolomites: this itinerary is suitable for everyone, designed for families and can be done in around 2 hours. The length is 5 kilometers, the difference in altitude is just over 300 meters.
