Carp fishing is an exciting form of recreational fishing, where the angler catches then releases the carp back into the water. It is practised in three different lakes in the province of Belluno.
This technique is well-known for its sophisticated methods and the gentle handling of the fish, which are photographed after being caught and then returned to the water.
Carp fishing was first introduced in 1978 in England, thanks to the innovative hair rig invented by Lennie Middleton and Kevin Maddocks. This rig uses a very fine thread to secure the bait to the hook, making catching more effective and less harmful to the fish. You can try this fascinating technique on Centro Cadore Lake, Santa Croce Lake and Corlo Lake. Choose your favourite or try all three.
Centro Cadore Lake, with its calm deep waters, is set in spectacular scenery, surrounded by the awe-inspiring Marmarole and green meadows.
Santa Croce Lake is not only populated by carp, but by pike, perch, whitefish and other cyprinids and its waters are rich in biodiversity. The Centro Ittiogenico di Santa Croce del Lago is actively involved in repopulating the lake and promoting a sustainable ecosystem.
Corlo Lake in Fishing Basin no. 12 is often compared to a small Norwegian fjord and offers some great fishing in a spectacular setting
Three different lakes, three unique locations, where carp fishing is not just a technique but a chance to become one with nature, combining the thrill of the catch with respect for the environment.
