It was the distant post-war period when in Sernaglia della Battaglia (TV) Grandpa Bepi, along with his whole family, began raising animals and transforming their products to feed his family. Having something to sell or trade was essential to get by and try to rise above the hunger and misery of those years.
Thus, Papa Sebastiano decided in the late 1980s to continue the agricultural activity by integrating it with summer grazing in the foothills of Treviso, producing and promoting simple and genuine products, highlighting the flavors of tradition.
The years go by, work becomes passion, and passion returns to work, to the point that in 2019, the Nonno Bepi Farm leaves the lands of origin in Treviso to move to the Belluno area.
Luca, along with his family, purchased a farm that had been abandoned for several years, where he worked hard for a long time to fulfill his dream. The ancient ruin finally becomes the perfect place to diligently raise his animals and express all his dairy creativity, developed over the years.
Here, the home with the adjoining barn, the cheese factory, the cellar, the processing room, and everything needed to manage a modern farm is born. Now, the new reality becomes “FATTORIA BEPI ZUMELLE,” with the desire to connect the name of the founding grandfather, Bepi, to the new adventure in Zumelle.
The farm is located in Mel, just a short walk from the beautiful historic center, along the banks of the Piave River, and extends for just over 9 hectares, also enjoying breathtaking views of the Feltrine peaks and the Dolomitic summits. The farm hosts various types of animals, including cows, goats, horses, donkeys, ponies, and pigs. The dairy products mainly range from dairy items like ricotta, butter, yogurt,... as well as classic cow and goat cheeses: soft cheeses, aged cheeses, and blue cheeses. There are always innovations and a search for new flavors to satisfy different tastes.
For lovers of traditional cold cuts, they can find all the goodness of “de na olta” encapsulated in the experience of raising and processing meat. All this can be savored in sausages, cotechini, salamis, sopresse, pancetta, and soracosta. Seasonality is an important factor in ensuring the freshness and authenticity of our products, which many already appreciate.
The Nonno Bepi Farm sells its specialties at weekly markets, fairs, markets, home deliveries, as well as in its own small company store.
