The Cheese and Flavors Road of the Belluno Dolomites constitutes the great gastronomic itinerary of the province, where, under a large alliance, dairies, alpine pastures, producers in the agri-food sector, restaurants, hotels, agritourisms, alpine refuges, old “casèi”, that is, the old turnary dairies now transformed into museums of ancient dairy traditions, marketing companies, artistic craftsmanship businesses, and other tourist activities converge.
Founded in 2006, the Road currently has over 200 members and pursues several fundamental objectives, among which a specific mission stands out: to bring to the table the quality and traditional products of the Belluno area!
This is a way not only to enhance local agriculture but also to qualify hospitality and strengthen the tourist offer.
The range of products referenced by the Road is vast: from Piave D.o.P. to Schiz, from Tosella to Morlacco and Bastardo del Grappa along with over 30 dairy cheeses varying according to the rites of the various dairies in the valleys and many mountain cheeses that highlight the pastures of the high meadows, composing an authentic treasure of flavor.
The flavors are no less: from Belluno Honey DOP to Wines from the Vineyards of the Dolomites I.G.T., from Lamon Beans from the Belluno valley I.G.P. to Cesiomaggiore potatoes, from Belluno Barley, a Slow Food presidium, to Pastin, from Alpago Lamb (another Slow Food presidium) to “Capuz” of Vinigo and so on with the walnut and the “morone” from Feltre, the Prussian apple, wild berries, the Gialet Bean, the holy pumpkin, sponcio corn flour... A combination of tasty delights for the palate and scents that can only seduce the visitor and the tourist.
