You can start from the square of Tambre or from the parking lot of the ANA Tambre headquarters in S.Anna where the A pillar is located.
The strict State Domain to which the Cansiglio was subjected in 1548 for the needs of the Arsenal of the Most Serene Republic of Venice required the delineation of the forest area which from that moment became "The Great Forest of Reeds of St. Mark".
The boundary pillars are natural boulders firmly rooted in the ground (not all), of various sizes and shapes. Carved by local stonecutters, they bear the initials of the Rectors and the year when inspections were made from 1550 to 1795 and the hole where an iron cross was positioned.
Currently, the path connects 6 of the 20 recorded in the municipal territory of Tambre. The return from Malga Pian de le Lastre follows the same route as the outward journey.
Alternative: from the same malga, you can return by following the right indications of the Deer trail towards malga Manteo or follow the road to the Colindes square and then descend to Tambre along the road de Le Val.
