Climb Monte Paterno, on one of the most striking equipped routes in the entire Sexten Dolomite complex between tunnels and war trenches.
The via ferrata, of moderate difficulty, 6 kilometres long with 450 metres of elevation gain, crosses much of the shovel-shaped profile of Monte Paterno retracing the places that were the scene of the epic duel between Pietro De Luca and legendary guide Sepp Innerkofler, who had the worst of it.
The route unravels in a continuous succession of tunnels, pinnacles, ledges, and minor forks.
Incredible views of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo, which can be seen from the summit of Monte Paterno as well as from some of the tunnels and ledges. Here you can get a feeling of the history of Italy and Europe.
