When sport also becomes a way to remember. This is how Ferrata della Memoria, the via ferrata of the Vajont, the most recent Belluno ferrate came about.
The idea of Fabio Bristot “Rufus,” a former delegate of the Belluno Dolomites Mountain Rescue Service, was precisely to commemorate the Vajont tragedy with this equipped trail.
The via ferrata, which is 1 kilometre long with 260 metres of elevation gain, turns out to be quite challenging and exposed at times, allows you to wedge into the Vajont Valley and see the dam from a different angle.
It is truly the place of memory, where you can stop and think about that immense tragedy that occurred in 1963.
